Stylin’ Shorts

Hello style friends.

Summer has started officially for everyone now… I think. Is anyone still in school? I hope not. ANYWAY… In summer I live in shorts, and needed a few new pairs because my old ones are starting to fall apart. I wear them to work at the pool, with friends when I have a day off, and out at night (the one night a year I go out). I was so excited to find the perfect summer short at American Eagle because I’ve been obsessed with that store right now. They are a hi-rise short, which is so hot right now, but in a modern fit. They are also a really good length. Your booty won’t hang out, and they come in 3 perfect colors: black, rose and authentic light. Just a warning though, you might need to go up a size (I had to).

Thrift Tip: Winter in Summer

Hello style friends.

A few days ago, my friend dragged me to Goodwill to use her birthday coupon. I thought I would go just to support her since I didn’t need any new clothes nor do I have money to spend, but I ended up finding more than she did. My findings were on such a great deal, though, that I wanted to share with you how to find your own great deals.

The Thrift Tip of the day is…

Shop the off-season. Doing this at a retail level you can find amazing sales, now image doing it at the thrift level. Most of the off-season clothes are in the $1.50 bin meaning everything is a $1.50. Some of my greatest finds have come from that bin. A few winters ago I found a pair of Calvin Klein jean shorts that could not have fit me better; I slashed them into my favorite distressed shorts, and the rest is history. This past thrift haul I found 2 sweaters for Ugly Sweater Tuesday when school starts again. BOTH ONE DOLLAR AND FIFTY CENTS! CRAZY

This sweater is cuter on a person than this mannequin.

The Perfect Purse

Hello again style friends.

I have some very exciting new for you all. I have officially found my new purse. I have been searching for months for a purse I could carry with everything, BUT It had very specific criteria to meet, and this purse has met it all. I thought I found the purse back in December at Target, but that only lasted less than a month. I was super disappointed, and decided I would not buy another cheap purse that I didn’t love, so I have been on a hunt since then and I was determined to find the perfect purse.

First: quality. It was a must must must.
Next: neutral. It had to go with all my outfits because in the morning before school I’m busy and I don’t have time to change my purse everyday.
Third: different. I didn’t want a purse that everyone else would have. It had to stand out in some way.
Fourth: Possibly the most important. It had to have double straps. A long crossbody handle for school, and a short handle for when I want to feel fabulous.

And here is the purse that meets my high standards from ShoeMint.

Three & Four: The laser cut pattern on it makes it stand out, and it has 2 straps!
It is a little pricey, but since I don’t need it right away I’m hoping it goes on sale or I will just have to treat myself at the end of summer to a new back to school purse with the 20% off new customers get on their first order.
